MASON MASSEY BACK IN BLACK FOR SPEEDFEST 2013

DOUGLASVILLE, GA (January 24th, 2012) - After a stellar 2012 season, which included multiple wins in his rookie Late Model season and a U.S. Legend Cars Pro Division National Championship, Mason Massey is returning to the seat for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour portion of Speedfest 2013. Massey, who will be celebrating his 16th birthday at Speedfest, will be piloting his Jeff Foxworthy/Elizabeth Lee sponsored Late Model. The car will be his familiar black number 15 and prepared by his 2012 Crew Chief and 2002 Snowball Derby Winner Ricky Turner.

During the 2012 season, driving for Bill Elliott Racing, Massey made quite an impact running a limited schedule. In only his sixth start, he drove to Victory Lane after a hard fought win in Round 2 of the "Show Me The Money Series" at Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL). Later in the season, Massey became the youngest winner ever (15) in the 48th Annual Alabama 200. This was his first 200 lap race and he led the final 37 circuits to take home the prestigious victory. In October, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Massey set fast time and led every lap to capture the Pro Division National Champion title at the 21st Annual Legends Asphalt Nationals.

"Man, 2012 was a season to remember," said Massey. "We were able to really have a great season, it definitely exceeded our expectations. Ricky (Turner) and Doug (Stevens), who will Crew Chief us at Speedfest, always had our cars prepared and it showed on the track. We are just hoping we can build on our 2012 success into the 2013 season. And I love going to Cordele, we have always ran good there and they put on a good show."

It was a great day for us. I just want to thank Jeff Foxworthy Full Force Energy Shots, Elizabeth Lee, and all the guys at Bill Elliott Racing. It is definitely an honor to put my name in the record books with some of the best ever in racing.”

Massey will be back in the driver’s seat for Bill Elliott Racing later this month at Five Flags Speedway (FL) for the Allen Turner Pro Late Model 100 on September 29th.
